The Westmont Park District and Village of Westmont are looking for floats, costumed characters and performance groups to march in this year's Frosty & Friends Parade.
The parade and tree lighting ceremony will take place Saturday, Dec. 5, in Downtown Westmont, opening the annual Holly Days Festival. The Park District announced Friday, Aug. 28 that registration is open for groups interested in joining the lineup.
The call is broad. Organizers at the Westmont Park District said they want creative entries of all kinds, including themed floats, costumed characters and performance groups.
Holly Days is a month-long series of holiday events put on by Westmont organizations and public agencies. The parade and tree lighting ceremony anchor the celebration, which draws families from across the village each December.
Last year's parade stepped off at 5 p.m. and traveled down Cass Avenue from Chicago Avenue to Quincy Street, according to Shaw Local. The 2025 event also featured the Westmont High School choir at opening ceremonies, visits with Santa and Mrs. Claus, downtown business open houses and treats. A route and schedule for the 2026 parade have not yet been announced.
The Westmont Park District and Village of Westmont described Holly Days as a celebration hosted by a variety of local organizations and public agencies. Programming details for the weeks surrounding the Dec. 5 parade are expected later this fall.
