Downers Grove families now have free access to Parent TV, a collection of expert-led parenting videos and online courses, through the Downers Grove Public Library.
The library announced the addition on Tuesday, Aug. 25, timed to the start of the 2026–27 school year. Any patron with a DGPL card can stream the content at no cost.
According to the ParentTV platform description, the service features short videos, most under 10 minutes, from psychologists, pediatricians, mental health specialists, nutritionists and parenting educators. Topics include child development, emotional regulation, screen time, sleep routines, nutrition and preparing children for school. The platform also offers interactive courses and curated video series covering parenting from pregnancy through the teen years.
Content works on computers, tablets and smartphones.
Parent TV joins DGPL's existing digital suite, which already includes Libby for ebooks and audiobooks, Hoopla, Kanopy for streaming video, Comics Plus, Flipster for magazines and Tumble Book Library. All are accessible with a library card.
Residents within the Downers Grove library district can get a physical or digital card at no cost. Digital cards provide full library access and never expire. Holders of any Illinois library card can also use DGPL resources.
The library is at 1050 Curtiss St. Hours are Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.; Saturday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.; and Sunday, 1 to 5 p.m. For questions about digital resources, call 630-960-1200 or visit the Adult and Teen Services Desk.
