Westmont residents can set out unlimited bags of leaves at no cost starting Monday, Nov. 2, through Saturday, Nov. 28.
The village announced the program on Thursday, Aug. 27, as part of its waste-hauling contract with Flood Bros. Residents place kraft paper bags of leaves next to their garbage on their scheduled pickup day, and no yard waste stickers are required during the four-week collection window.
The program covers leaves only. Grass clippings and other yard waste still require a sticker. Only kraft paper bags qualify; plastic bags are not accepted.
Commercial and multi-unit properties are not eligible.
Westmont does not collect leaves raked into the street. The village's notice warns that leaves left in the roadway will not be picked up and may result in a fine.

After the free window closes
Flood Bros. continues its regular yard waste pickup program through Friday, Dec. 11, so residents who miss the free leaf window or need to dispose of grass clippings and other yard waste can still use stickered bags until that date. Each bag requires a yard waste sticker after Nov. 28.
The village's contract with Flood Bros. also includes a free brush pickup program that runs through Friday, Dec. 11. Brush does not require stickers.
Stickers are available at Village Hall, 31 W. Quincy St.; Mariano's, 150 W. 63rd St.; and Jewel-Osco locations at Cass and Ogden and at 55th and Holmes in Clarendon Hills.
