Woodridge's Kristina Lee wrapped up a busy international summer at the 2026 FIG Rhythmic Gymnastics World Cup in Milan, competing as part of the U.S. Senior National group at the final and most competitive stop of the series.

Lee and her teammates finished 16th in the group all-around at the event, held Thursday, July 10, through Saturday, July 12, at the Unipol Forum in Assago, just outside Milan. Brazil won the group all-around title, with Spain taking the 5 Balls event and China winning the 3 Hoops & 2 Clubs.

The result came at the end of a season that saw the group climb through increasingly tough international fields. At the Senior Rhythmic Pan American Championships in Rio de Janeiro, the team earned silver in the all-around and 5 Balls events and bronze in 3 Hoops & 2 Clubs. They followed that with a 9th-place all-around finish at the Beijing World Challenge Cup on June 19–21 and 7th place in the 3 Hoops & 2 Clubs apparatus final there.

The group entered the World Cup series as reigning national champions, having won the all-around title at the 2026 USA Gymnastics Championships in Tulsa, Oklahoma. They also placed first in 3 Hoops & 2 Clubs and second in 5 Balls at nationals, according to USA Gymnastics records.

The 17-year-old Lee trains at North Shore Rhythmic Gymnastics Center, a Deerfield-based program that has produced athletes for three U.S. Olympic teams over the past 12 years. She has been a member of the Senior National group since 2024. At the 2024 USA Gymnastics Championships in Minneapolis, the group won all-around gold with a score of 53.750.

The 12-member U.S. senior group roster includes several other Illinois athletes: Goda Balsys of Northbrook, Lorelei D'Angelo and Kalina Trayanov of Deerfield, Annabella Hantov of Northfield, Greta Pavilonyte of Buffalo Grove, and Alaini Spata of Glen Ellyn.

The U.S. Senior National group's next potential major competition is the 2026 FIG Rhythmic Gymnastics World Championships, scheduled for August 12–16 in Frankfurt, Germany. Team selections have not been announced.
