Sausage sculpting, stein holding and pretzel tossing return to Woodridge as the Woodridge Park District hosts its 7th annual Oktoberfest on Friday, Sept. 25, and Saturday, Sept. 26.

The 21-and-up-only festival runs in the parking lot of Cypress Cove Aquatic Park, 8301 S. Janes Ave. Gates open at 5:30 p.m. Friday and 5 p.m. Saturday, with both nights running until 10:30 p.m.

Early-bird tickets are $15 through Thursday, Sept. 24, at woodridgeparks.org. Same-day tickets at the door cost $20.

Five live acts split the two nights. Friday features Linda Lee & The Golden-Aires from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. and cover band Sixteen Candles closing from 9 to 10:30 p.m. Saturday brings The Musikmeisters at 5:30 p.m., Polka MoJo from 7 to 8:30 p.m. and Nerdvana closing from 9 to 10:30 p.m. A DJ opens Friday's lineup at 5:30 p.m.

The contest schedule is packed. Sausage sculpting runs 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. both nights, according to the event schedule posted by Patch. Friday adds a pretzel toss at 6:30 p.m., while Saturday swaps in a sausage toss at the same time. Stein holding contests close out the competition slate at 8:30 p.m. each night.

On the food side, the park district listed four vendors on its Facebook page: Skuddlebutt's for German fare, Wicked Entertainment Food Truck, Fernando's Street Kitchen and The Great Sandeenie for desserts. Craft beer comes from two Woodridge breweries, Skeleton Key Brewery on Lemont Road and BuckleDown Brewing, alongside seasonal pours, canned options and cider.

The park district said the two-night festival includes live music, food vendors, beer from local breweries, a photo booth and contests. The Village of Woodridge co-sponsors the event.
