The Woodridge Public Library Board of Trustees will vote Wednesday, Oct. 21, on a new Video Monitoring Policy, one of several governance items on the agenda.

The board will also consider approving a joint repair project with the Village of Woodridge to address "water on pavement" issues near the library building, according to the meeting agenda. An updated Capital Assets Policy is also up for approval.

The video monitoring item comes roughly three years after the board discussed its Behavior Policy as it relates to videotaping patrons, according to October 2023 board minutes. The agenda does not include the text of the proposed policy, so the specifics remain unclear ahead of the meeting.

The pavement repair project has been in the works for months. In March, the library, the Village's Public Works department and the Village Building Commissioner met to discuss drainage and other improvements to the parking lot and walkways near the library building and Town Centre, according to board minutes from that month. The board unanimously approved a $12,400 topographical survey at that meeting to begin assessing the problems. Library Director Patti Naisbitt described the survey as a first step toward addressing issues on library property.

Wednesday's vote on the joint repair with the Village would move the project into its next phase, though the agenda does not list a dollar amount for the work.

Beyond the new business items, the board will hear updates on two ongoing projects. The east elevator modernization is now listed as completed on the agenda. The project was awarded a $50,000 grant from the Illinois State Library in June 2025, according to April 2026 board minutes. At the July board meeting, Naisbitt reported a parts delay had stalled progress, but the October agenda marks the project finished.

A master planning update is also on the unfinished business docket.

On the consent agenda, the board will consider approving September payroll of $171,974.76 and a bank register totaling $229,938.64 for September. The personnel report shows zero staffing changes.

The meeting begins at 7:30 p.m. in the Library Director's Office on the first floor at 3 Plaza Drive. Board President John Majewski presides over the seven-member elected board. The board will also enter executive session to discuss personnel, real estate acquisition and litigation. Residents needing disability accommodations should contact the library's Business Office at 630-487-2550 or [email protected] at least five business days before the meeting.
