Westmont firefighters pulled an unresponsive man from a pond in the 6700 block of Alpine Lane on Thursday, Aug. 20, resuscitated him at the scene and transported him to Good Samaritan Hospital in critical condition.

The Westmont Fire Department received the call at approximately 6:27 p.m. for a person in the water, according to a village press release issued the same day. Crews arrived, located the man in the pond and began performing CPR.

Multiple fire departments assisted Westmont at the scene, and divers were deployed as part of the rescue effort, according to real-time scanner traffic monitored by @KDCScanner (Kane & DuPage County Scanner) on X:

After the initial rescue, Westmont Fire Department members walked the entire perimeter of the pond searching for any additional victims who might be submerged. None were found.
