After a two-week break for the July 4 holiday and the Taste of Westmont, the weekly car show that fills three blocks of Cass Avenue with classic rides is back Thursday, July 16.

Westmont Cruisin' Nights & Street Fair runs every Thursday from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. through Thursday, August 27, giving residents seven more evenings of free live music, market vendors, kids' activities, and roughly half a mile of classic car displays. The series is organized by the Westmont Special Events Corporation, a local nonprofit.

The 2025 season averaged nearly 400 classic cars and more than 2,500 guests each week, according to the village. All makes and models are welcome, and spectator admission is free.

Steve Golembiewski, president of the Westmont Special Events Corporation, said the organization works to create all-ages events while keeping safety a priority. "This is an event in which pedestrians and vehicles share the roadway, so it's important for everyone to make event safety a priority," Golembiewski said in the village announcement. Police Chief Brian Gruen echoed the safety message.

How it works

Cass Avenue closes from Burlington Avenue to Naperville Road starting at 4:30 p.m. and reopens after 9 p.m. once cars and vendors clear out. Classic and cool cars enter from Norfolk Avenue near Bank of America at 139 N. Cass Avenue. Event staff in orange shirts direct parking and traffic.

Construction on East Burlington may affect detour routes this summer. Motorists should follow posted detours and parking restrictions.

No car show parking is allowed on Cass Avenue before 3 p.m. due to a two-hour limit protecting downtown businesses. Early arrivals can use four-hour parking lots nearby.

Alcohol purchased from participating businesses (wristband required) may be carried throughout the event area. No outside alcohol or coolers are permitted.

Themed nights ahead

Each week features a different car theme and live music on a main stage on Cass Avenue plus a second performer at NEAT Kitchen + Bar. Guests are encouraged to bring folding chairs for the Cass and Irving music area.

The July 16 theme is Trucks, Jeeps & Junkers with a Car Corral for vehicles for sale and cars with business logos. The Trailer Park Twisters Country Band performs on the main stage, with Mike Hayes at NEAT Kitchen + Bar.
