Westmont Special Events is recruiting business sponsors for its Endless Summer Car Show Tour, a program that drives classic and cool cars directly to senior care and retirement communities across the area.

The tour, now in its fifth year, grew out of frustration. Board member Larry McIntyre, who conceived the concept, said organizers spent years trying to get seniors to the popular Westmont Cruisin' Nights on Cass Avenue but could never make the logistics work.

"For years, we were trying to work with senior centers and facilities to invite them to our popular Westmont Cruisin' Night events, and we were never successful due to a variety of logistics, so we came up with a plan and decided to bring the car show to them," McIntyre said in the village announcement posted Thursday, Aug. 27.

The solution flipped the model. Instead of moving residents to the cars, volunteers bring a selection of classic vehicles to facility parking lots and common areas, giving seniors a taste of the weekly downtown show without the transportation hurdle.

Westmont Cruisin' Nights, the parent event, averaged nearly 400 classic cars and more than 2,500 guests each week last year, according to the village's season announcement. The show runs every Thursday in June, July and August on three blocks of Cass Avenue in downtown Westmont. The 2026 season wrapped up Aug. 27.

The Endless Summer tour extends that energy beyond the downtown strip. McIntyre called the program "a very popular event in the community." The announcement did not list specific facility names or upcoming tour dates for 2026.

Westmont Special Events Corporation is a volunteer-driven nonprofit that also produces the Taste of Westmont, Wicked West Fest and Holly Days.
