The Woodridge Park District is offering two free fitness classes on Friday, July 3, at the ARC, 8201 S. Janes Ave., giving families a way to sweat together before the holiday weekend hits full swing.

First up: Red, White & Blue Yoga from 8 to 8:45 a.m., a 45-minute session billed as spanning "toddlers to grandparents." The class uses partner poses and playful movement, and no experience is required. Participants are encouraged to wear patriotic attire and bring their own mats.

At 9:30 a.m., the America 250 Family Workout packs 250 total reps into 30 minutes: 50 each of lunges, push-ups, squats, sit-ups, and burpees. The rep count mirrors the nation's 250th birthday, which falls on Saturday, July 4.

Both classes are open to all ages and fitness levels. Pre-registration is required, and each family member needs a separate registration for each class. Sign up through the Woodridge Park District's online registration portal.

Attendees can also bring food donations for the West Suburban Community Pantry, the Woodridge-based nonprofit that serves 1,000 families per week across DuPage and Will Counties. Suggested items include canned chicken or tuna, boxed pasta, peanut butter, canned beans, canned vegetables, canned soup, and baby formula.
