A Milwaukee folk duo whose latest album cracked the top three on international charts will play Downers Grove's longest-running music venue for a $10 suggested donation on Friday, July 17.

Patty Stevenson and Craig Siemsen, who perform as Patty & Craig, take the stage at Two Way Street Coffee House, 1047 Curtiss St., as part of the venue's weekly Friday Night Concert Series. Doors open at 7:30 p.m. and the show starts at 8 p.m.

Their third duo album, Look to the Moon, landed at No. 3 on the Folk Alliance International DJ charts in September 2025. The lead track, "Love, Surround Me," also hit No. 3, and the duo reached No. 4 on the top artist chart that month, according to their official website. The album stayed in the top 50 most-played folk recordings worldwide for all of 2025.

The record grew from a Facebook photo of a blood moon that inspired Siemsen to write lunar-themed songs. Stevenson joined the songwriting for what had originally been planned as a solo project, as reviewer Jamie Lee Rake wrote in the Shepherd Express: "They sound perfectly comfortable in their own skins singing of love, hope and political issues."

Stevenson plays piano, guitar, and vocals. She built a harp for her first folk recording. Siemsen plays guitar largely by ear and blends original material with old-time country and traditional folk. The married couple met in the mid-1980s at a folk festival, maintained solo careers, then eventually agreed to perform one show together as a duo. They never stopped.

Two Way Street Coffee House has been presenting Friday night concerts since 1970, when it opened as a teen drop-in center at First Congregational United Church of Christ. The volunteer-run venue is now in its 56th year of continuous weekly shows. About 60 percent of its performers come from the local area, according to a Patch profile of the venue, though it also books touring acts from outside the region like Patty & Craig.

Patty & Craig have additional summer festival dates at the Woodstock Folk Festival, Black Hawk Folk Festival, and Shawano Folk Festival, with a fall East Coast tour to follow.
