The Duncan family's "Haunted Cemetery" at 2308 College Road in Downers Grove is open nightly, featuring a pirate ship, a witches' lair and a new pumpkin stand.

The display earned a spot on Patch's 2026 list of the best Halloween yard haunts in DuPage and Kane counties, published Oct. 8 by staff writer Lorraine Swanson. It was the only Downers Grove entry on the list as of that date, though Patch updates the list each Friday leading up to Halloween.

The yard includes a pirate ship with tentacles reaching for the captain and first mate, octopuses scattered across the lawn and a witches' lair with broom parking and victims bubbling in a cauldron, according to the listing.

New for 2026, a stand called JK Pumpkin Farms operates at the site. Two entrepreneurs, ages 21 and 24, sell decorative pumpkins, carving pumpkins, gourds, hay bales and corn stalks. Their names were not included in the listing.

The Daily Herald also noted the display in its suburban haunted house roundup.

The Haunted Cemetery is free to visit and lit from 5 to 9 p.m. daily, weather permitting.
