Westmont businesses can pay $150 to have a local artist paint a winter mural on their storefront windows, with the artwork staying up through the end of February.

Westmont Special Events and the Creative Arts Network announced Nov. 2 that sign-ups are open for the winter edition of their annual Business Window Mural Program. The program pairs participating businesses with local artists who design and paint the murals directly on store windows.

The $150 fee covers everything: program coordination, materials, design, painting and removal once the display period ends, according to the Westmont Special Events website.

The winter cycle follows a fall edition that ran from September through November. The village's announcement describes the mural program as annual.

Westmont Special Events Corporation is a volunteer-driven nonprofit that coordinates events programming in the village. The Creative Arts Network, which co-hosts the mural program, also runs a monthly art class at NEAT Kitchen + Bar in Westmont.

Businesses can sign up online at westmontevents.com or call 630-829-9378. The village announcement did not list a sign-up deadline.
