Downers Grove North High School students will host a Halloween music event for young children later this month, with a food pantry drive built into the afternoon.

The DGN Illinois Music Honors Society (ILMHS) will present "Trick or Treble" on Oct. 24 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the high school, 4436 Main St. The event targets children ages 0 to 9 and features three rooms of Halloween-themed musical activities led by ILMHS members, according to the DGN Omega, the school's student newspaper.

Costumes are encouraged. Families can come and go at any time during the two-hour window.

The event doubles as a food drive. Organizers are asking attendees to bring a shelf-stable food donation for the DGN food pantry, which will be collected at the door.

The student newspaper did not specify what musical activities each of the three rooms will offer or name the ILMHS members leading them.
